Description

Quyle Kilns is the oldest family owned and operated production business in Murphys, producing handmade pottery as well as mining and processing raw clays. To visit us, travel East from Murphys on Hwy 4. The next four miles gain 1000 ft. in elevation. We are located on the left side of Hwy 4, look for the Qulye Kilns and Brice Station Tasting Room signs. The Tasting Room is located just across the walkway from our pottery showroom.

The Quyle Family has been producing fine pottery and clay bodies since 1941. Paul and Joyce Quyle started making their own clay formulas because there were no clays available for their own use. As interest in their specialized clays grew, Paul and Joyce decided to expand their clay production and pottery business. In 1954 they moved to Murphys and opened the Quyle Kilns on the 100 acre family ranch.

From that time until now the Quyle Kilns has been a single family owned and operated business. For over 65 years we continue to produce quality clay bodies and fine handmade, high-fired ceramics.
