CALICO CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE

For more than 40 years,Calico Christmas has taken place in Amador City, a historic Gold Rush town. Calico Christmas is a perfect way to remember a childhood Christmas from an earlier time when things were relaxed and the Season was all about family celebrations Come, join us in our town, the smallest incorporated City in all of California, where the buildings date back to the Gold Rush era of the late 1850s.

Fresh fir and cedar garlands festoon town, merchants have cookies, hot apple juice and other goodies for everyone on Saturday beginning at 10. At 5:30 PM everyone gathers in front of a cheerfully decorated tree on the bridge in the center of town for the annual tree lighting and local musicians warm up the atmosphere, playing familiar carols.

Many of the stores are open late, including Buffalo Chips. Ashley will be serving a traditional dinner including baked polenta and bread pudding. Seating is limited and she always sells out. Please call for reservations: 209-267-0570.
