Your safety is your responsibility!
There is no lifeguard on duty for the Pinecrest Polar Bear JumpHere are some tips to stay safe while you're taking the dip
- Cold water can be dangerous!! Please be aware of the risks and do not participate unless you are in good health and physically fit. Young children and people with heart problems should NOT participate. If you have any question about your ability, please talk to your doctor.
- Plan your escape route. It can be disorienting jumping into freezing cold water and you'll want to get out pretty quick. Additionally, we jump where there is room and are at the mercy of nature and water levels so there is likely not even footing and some exit routes may have unforeseen dangers. Before you jump, have a plan on how you're getting out.
- Water shoes are recommended, numb feet can’t feel sharp rocks
- Bring your own towels, blankets, heating pads and whatever else you will need to warm yourself up after the plunge, none of this will be provided.
