Start Planning Your 2023 Garden!

January is the perfect time to make your plans for the gardening year. This class will help you figure out what to plant and the best time to plant them as well as soil preparation. For rose lovers, we’ll teach you proper pruning and propagation techniques. In addition, in preparation for our February fruit tree grafting class, you’ll learn how to prepare scions.

Objectives:

• Discuss what to plant for best results in Amador County.
• Discuss best practices for preparing your soil.
• Demonstrate proper rose pruning techniques for the coming year.
• Demonstrate how to prepare scions for grafting on fruit trees.
