ABOUT GOLD RUSH 2018

The Historic California Experience (aka. GOLD RUSH 2018) is a Gold Country wide celebration, a historic showcase of many activities and events celebrating the History, Cultures, Lifestyle, Art, Music and Cuisine from California's Gold Rush period. This event is being coordinated by committees and a team organized by Event City. It will run from Spring to Fall, and is the official commencement of a Quinquennial celebratory festival (to be celebrated every 5 years).

Gold Rush 2018 Coordinators are collaborating with a variety of established activities, events and festivals throughout the Gold Country, as well as businesses, recreational activity and locations where new experiences may take place in 15 Gold Country Counties, over 16,000 sq miles of land. Some major cities which played a role in the historical elements during the Gold Rush will be a part of these celebrations. Here are examples of the activities and events that are in the works:

  • Kick Off Celebrations and Major Events Late Spring to Early Summer
  • Historic activities, music, performances, food related activities, concerts, tours, reenactments, and more, all with Gold Rush era type of experiences. Different events and other locations showing interest daily!

We have several locations in the running for both the Kickoff celebration as well as other major events including a final Gold Rush Festival to potentially take place in Jackson, Angels Camp, El Dorado, and Valley Springs to name a few.

Travel and Tourism

Imagine spending a weekend at a unique Gold Rush Village(TM) showcasing the living history of California during the Gold Rush. Visitors can make future reservations to spend a night or two in a Gold Rush Village as if you lived 170 years ago.

Visiting counties such as Calaveras,Tuolumne, Mariposa and Amador, which some consider the Heart of the Gold Country, offering true historic perspectives on what the Gold Rush and the 49ers were all about. From the Calaveras County Museum & Historical Society in San Andreas to the Historic National Hotel in Jackson you can almost literally relive history, and that is part of the plan when you visit the Historic California Experience this year. Continue your journey to events and activities in the Gold Country or visit San Francisco only two hours away.

The project is to raise funds and awareness for Homelessness in California. It is Coordinated and Produced by Event City.
