BRET HARTE THEATER

The Bret Harte Theater (a.k.a. Dr. Elliott A. Smart Performing Arts Center) is located on the campus of the Bret Harte Union High School in Angels Camp, California.

The Bret Harte Theater serves as a unique educational, artistic, and cultural center for the high school, community and region. Our mission is to nurture creativity and collaboration while providing practical skills to the students of Bret Harte through applied experience. In addition to preparing students of the arts for college and careers as artists and craftsmen, the Bret Harte Theater serves the general student population as a viable educational resource that is readily available for utilization by all academic disciplines. Essential to our mission is the production of a broad range of plays and concerts for a diverse audience in a professional theatrical environment.
