The Calaveras County Arts Council presents the Christmas Truce of 1914, a play by Alan Shepard about the true story of a spontaneous Christmas cease-fire during World War I. As the fighting raged, Allied and German soldiers were eager to set aside war for Christmas. They put down their guns, crossed no-mans land, and celebrated the holiday with salutations, singing, and soccer.

Kathy Mazzaferro directs this surprising and sensitive story, with actors from Once Upon a Time Productions and live music by Mountain Melody Womens Chorus.
